If you’ve never tried kiteboarding before, this is where your journey begins. Our Beginner Kite Course in Fuerteventura is designed to take you from zero to riding safely, step by step, with a balance of safety, fun, and progression.

The following program is a general outline of our beginner course. In practice, we always adapt the pace and exercises to each student’s level, progression, and learning speed to ensure maximum safety and enjoyment.

Day 1

First Contact

Equipment basics, safety, and static kite control without power.

Day 2

Dynamic Kite Control

More movement with the kite, power strokes, and coordination.

Day 3

First Water Experience

First water exercises using kite power to move safely.

Day 4 +

Water starts and Progression

Board introduction, first rides, longer sessions, speed control, and first upwind attempts.

FAQ

Do I need any experience?

No, this course is for complete beginners.

No, all equipment is included (kite, board, wetsuit, harness).

We always have backup activities: SUP, surf, theory, or reschedule sessions. If you have to leave the island then you will be refounded.

Yes, we follow IKO standards, work in small groups, and use boat support for extra safety.

Each lesson usually lasts around 3–4 hours totally, the effective water or beach time flying the kite is 1,5 hours. This ensures enough time to learn, practice, and rest without getting too tired.

We normally run lessons in the morning or early afternoon, choosing the best time of the day according to wind and tides. The exact schedule is confirmed daily to make sure you Kite in the most suitable conditions.

Our main teaching language is English, but our team also speaks Spanish, Italian, and French. We adapt the lessons so everyone feels comfortable and understands clearly.

Beginner Kitesurf Course

Who is it for?

Total beginners with no previous kitesurfing experience.

Lesson 1 – Beach (no power):

Safety systems and rules · Wind window basics · Kite setup & checks · Static control without power.

Lesson 2 – Beach (more dynamics):

Deeper kite control with gentle power · Body-drag theory · Board recovery practice · Relaunch training

From Lesson 3 – Water (by boat):

We move to the water with support boat and radio helmets—no crowds, rocks, or shorebreak. The instructor stays close until you’re confident.

Water progression:

  • Body drag both hands (downwind)

  • One-hand body drag (upwind)

  • Board recovery

  • Body drag with the board

  • Steady-pull → Waterstart → First rides

Duration & Format:

Each lesson includes about 1.5 hours of effective riding time. With transfers, briefing, kite setup, breaks, and return, each session takes around 3–4 hours in total.

Semi-private: maximum 2 students per instructor.

Boat group: small groups of max 4–5 students in total.

Scheduling:

Flexible and condition-dependent (wind and weather). We confirm the schedule 1–2 days in advance. Stay flexible and you’ll progress faster.

Included:

Full equipment (kite, board, wetsuit, harness), safety gear (helmet, impact vest, lycra), radios, support boat, insurance, transfers, and an IKO level certificate at the end.
